  • The Epistemic Role of Consciousness [Decland Smithies, OUP, 2019] (I was compelled by Philip Goff's argument for panpsychism on JRE, but felt he still failed to define what the domain of the conscious was other than "the philosophical aspect of you," which is a way of saying "you, but the part that by definition isn't identifiable," which seems to be a problem that creates itself; if consciousness is more than a physical product, why do we need it to be such? By searching for the ontology of the seat of subjectivity, are we chasing a phantom that is merely the product of our language, or do we have our finger on something real? Nagel's Mind and Cosmos endeared me to panpsychism in 2013, and Watts certainly argues for something like it, but I still can't find a way of buying into it).

  • Philosophy of Mind - Great Courses, 18 hrs [Patrick Grim, 2013] (I am listening to this on Audible, and have been slowly working through it in the background of my other reading for the past 6 months or so ... really teaches in a way that works for me; highly topical, but explains concepts in a way that is deeply historical, as a story. Great teacher, great lectures, philosophically rich; this guy is not just a subject matter expert, but a great philosophy professor, and I've enjoyed learning from him quite a bit).

Tools I Use Every Day

  • Audible (80% for a monthly "Great Course")

  • Elementor (for all websites I build; core to my entrepreneurial stack)

  • Envato Elements (unlimited commercially licensed digital assets like photos, icons, illustrations, site templates, etc. - I use EE on a daily basis and recommend it to all creatives reliant on Adobe Stock, etc.)

  • ConvertKit (I used to use Mailchimp, and as someone who has used Hubspot for years, I believe ConvertKit can do 10x as much as Mailchimp and 80% of Hubspot for 10% the cost of Hubspot).

Fitness Resources I Commonly Recommend

  • Onnit Kettlebell 6 (the best at-home workout program I've ever encountered, and an instant favorite of all who take me up on it).

  • Protein Bars (I use these to help me hit 200g+ per day when powder doesn't cut it, or I have a low-protein dinner out)
