From cratering experiments to Moon tech, Titan and Pluto, Kirby has so much to share about his research and love of spreading space enthusiasm to everyone he meets!!

Dr. Kirby Runyon is a planetary geologist and exploration architect at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (APL). At APL he conducts cratering experiments by flinging sand, works on a Consortium focused on technology for the Moon, studies planetary surfaces from spacecraft images, and generally has fun exploring the solar system. More importantly, he's a lifelong space enthusiast who loves to "enthusiate" others with his own enthusiasm for space exploration. The Cosmos is more than something to know—the Cosmos is something to experience.
