A coroners inquest is looking into how a murderer released on parole in Christchurch was able to kill again.

Paul Wilson - also known as Paul Tainui - was jailed for killing his girlfriend Kimberly Schroder in 1994, only to be released before raping and murdering his colleague Nicole Tuxford in 2018.

The inquiry has heard there were red flags Wilson would kill again, and that he became obsessed with Nicole - much like he had with Kimberly before he killed her.

Ruth Money is a victims advocate and she joins us to talk about this case.
