When Toby Good was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, his parents took shifts to check on him throughout the night.
For months they woke every two hours - blood pricking his finger to check his levels.
If they were too low, he could slip into a coma. Too high and his organs could be destroyed.
But now - thanks to a glucose monitor - his parents can sleep through the night, and their lives have changed for the better.
Toby’s Mum, Lavina Good, is on a mission to have these devices funded for the 26,000 type 1 diabetes sufferers across NZ.
