A beloved Wellington video store which has been a magnificent mainstay for many Wellingtonians, and clung on through the rise of streaming services.. is in real trouble again.

Aro Video saw a groundswell of community support in 2017 when it offered to let people ‘adopt a movie’ to raise money and stay open.

It innovated again in 2019 by launching a subscription model, and last year sold donated DVDs to launch an online service.

But it’s on its last legs again… and owner Andrew Armitage says this time it’ll take a miracle.
