San Francisco has approved a policy which will allow city police to use potentially lethal, remote controlled robots in emergency situations.

There are no current plans to arm droids with guns, however the department could deploy bots with explosive charges to quote - ‘incapacitate, or disorient violent, armed, or dangerous suspects’ when lives are at stake.
