It's been revealed the group of people who accidentally overdosed on fentanyl in Wairarapa in June sourced the drug from the dark web. 

The details are outlined in a new documentary from Today FM’s current affairs series The Core. The episode shows just how easy it is to access the drug online.

Twelve people were hospitalised over Matariki weekend this year, and a thirteenth a week later after taking a white powder they thought was cocaine. 

Police told Wilhelmina Shrimpton about an ounce of the substance was imported to New Zealand via the dark web, and then bought unwittingly by users.
