Opinion: Full disclosure - this is the second editorial I wrote for today.

The first was quite critical of our new Prime Minister off the back of our interview yesterday using a bunch of examples of him failing to answer basic questions which he should have been better prepared for. I compared him to someone who risks becoming known as the dude who always turns up to parties, without any Doritos and expects to be able to drink everyone else’s beer. 

That was around midday. Then at 3pm Chris Hipkins fired the blowtorch on the bonfire of the political vanities. 

Kaboom!! 

Most of it we’d predicted - RNZ/TVNZ, social insurance, the three waters redraw - but there were a couple of surprises in there too...
