February the 24th is the day Russia invaded Ukraine.

For Anna Zaichenko it’s also the day her mother died of a heart attack. 

A week later her grandmother died. 

Then, her brother George was killed on the frontline by Russian forces

Yet when she tried to get his only daughter Olga to New Zealand their application for the Ukraine Special Visa, was refused.  

Before I went to Ukraine I met Anna at her home in Howick.
