We like to hit an issue from different perspectives - today we're looking at water rights. 

The government’s Three Waters reforms have polarised opinion. The intention to include the protection of Māori rights in the process has certainly been contentious. 

That’s what struck journalist Aaron Smale when he wrote an article for the website Newsroom, suggesting that Pakeha farmers had long enjoyed water rights with virtually no constraints just the benefits.

So we’ll talk with Aaron Smale, and then to Federated Farmers water quality spokesman Chris Allan.
