South Auckland police have been going to creative lengths to nab people using their phones while driving. 

They've been dressing their undercover officers in hoodies, and face coverings and stationing them at traffic lights with green BP squeegees. 

The creative policing tactic was discovered by local Rowan who filmed himself approaching the officer and the kerfuffle with other officers who then arrived.
