In this episode, we look at the two creation stories in Genesis 1 and 2. We investigate the differences between them, and discuss the importance of evaluating each story on its own merits. Differences aren't necessarily contradictions - sometimes two passages are just talking about different things, in which case it doesn't make much sense to compare them to see whether they contradict. With these two stories in Genesis 1 and 2, if you do take them to be talking about the same thing, you run into problems. One such problem is the sequence events.
We then get into a discussion on the differences that scholars have noticed throughout the Pentateuch, and the theory known as the "Documentary Hypothesis."
