We are continuing our Culture Series for the Fall Semester called Beautiful Resistance. This week we will be looking at Gender/Sexual Identity!

Main Points:

Intro - Fighting for 3% of the student population.

1. Cultural Design - Sexuality and Gender are completely fluid (Grey) no boundaries

2. 70% of LGBTQ+ youth stated that their mental health was "poor" most of the time or always

3. Almost half of LGBTQ+ student's reguarly think about or attempt suicide
4. 94% of LGBTQ+ youth reported that recent politics negatively impacted their mental health.
5. 81.7% of Transgender adults consider suicide
6. 40.4 percent reported attempting suicide

“How’s this working for us?” Nothing in our pioneering history has produced stats like this. (i.e. fight for women’s rights. Fight for racial equality. Fight against slavery etc…)

2. Boundaries are beneficial to us. The Father has set boundaries around our sexuality and Gender for our good. Boundaries are for Hetro-sexual attraction as well. Everyone is tempted!!

3. Longing not Loneliness - WE are called to Jesus! We are called to same sex relationships (Deep friendships)

4. We will always direct you towards God’s design.

5. Not denying the feelings you have but calling you to sacrifice for the cause of Jesus. This call to sacrifice is the same for everyone as we will see even more next week.
