A Bemidji man was sentenced to eight years in prison for the malicious punishment of an infant, Dr. Helen Zaikina-Montgomery named the new president of Leech Lake Tribal College, United Ways of Bemidji and Northeastern Minnesota seeking volunteers for sandbagging efforts in Koochiching County, and the Bemidji City Council discussed numerous items during their meeting Monday.
