I was taking a walk and thinking about the connection of all things.

Thinking About Community First, I was thinking about my community. Recently, God's been stretching me to step out of my comfort zone, take my walls down, and be more authentic to the people around me and the people in my community.

There's been an element of watching my tongue and words, where I feel like I'm very careful how much of my true heart and true self I reveal to people, and that doesn't need to be there because I'm safe. And I know that I'm safe, but I need to start walking that out.

In a video we did a few days ago, I talked about how I attended the Alchemy of Abundance conference and started practicing being more open socially. I was walking through and thinking about all the people I know in my community, how awesome they are, and how grateful I am for them.

Thinking About God That led me to think more about God and how God is connected to all of us. I believe that that space between the atoms, that we don't know what holds the electrons to each atom and all of the scientific stuff that we don't know, I believe that that energy source is God, that God holds all these things together.

Some Bible verses come to mind: For, from him, and through him, and to him are all things - that's Romans 11:36 and Ephesians 4:6 - One God and Father of us all, who is over all and through all and in all. And I believe that all is all. Even in creation, God is a part of his creation. (Also Col. 1:16-17)

And one of my friends was talking the other day about how she feels connected to God in nature - just feeling connected to the earth and the grass and the trees and how she hears God speak to her in those moments.

Jesus Came to Reveal to Us the Father And at that moment on the walk, I was thinking about how Jesus came to reveal to us the Father. And he did that in such a personal way. Sometimes people who think of God as connected to nature think of him as the source of the universe. And that can feel impersonal if we're thinking about God as a scientific field or something like that. But part of why Jesus came was to reveal God to us as our Father, as a good father paying attention to us. Jesus talked about the sparrows, how a sparrow doesn't fall without your Father knowing, and every hair on your head is numbered.

That gives such a different perspective to God as our Father vs. an idea of this impersonal scientific source that we can connect to, to feel more purposeful and one with everything in the world - and feeling purpose and connection to all things is an important element of who God is - but Jesus came to reveal to us the fatherhood of God.

We Never Have to Feel Alone At that moment on the walk, I felt like everything was watching me, not in a creepy way, but like it was all rooting for me. Like the grass around me and the stones under my feet were saying, Yes, you're on this path. Your eyes are being opened. You're growing every day. You're doing so well. And to feel the Father's heart, as He is in the rocks and the grass and everything, and the angels and the crowd of witnesses that Hebrews talks about cheering us on in the spiritual realm, people who've gone on before, just all being so present. We never have to feel alone.

So I just wanted to share that revelation that I had today. Just stuff that I already knew, but sometimes you need to feel it. It would help if you practiced feeling the truth and the reality of these things, and it needs to go from your head to your experience. And I'm proud of myself for taking that time to step out in nature and be alone and listen.

Take Some Time to Be Alone and Listen So I encourage you today: take some time to be alone and listen. Whether you need to feel alone and like it's just you and God one-on-one, or if you need to feel like there is a whole herd of people behind you, cheering for you, that everything in the universe is conspiring for your good - either way, whichever version works best for you, God is there for you. Take some time and interact with him today in whatever way feels like it would be the most healing and beneficial for you.
