In this second special series of the Game Changers Podcast, Phil talks with Dr Julie Andrews and Leann Wilson about how education might help Australia to address its sad relationship with our First Nations. Leann Wilson is a Bidjara and Kara/Kara First Nation descendent, and acknowledges her South Sea Islander heritage. She was born, raised and spent most of her life in Barcaldine in Central Western Queensland. Leann began her working life as a jillaroo and roo shooter in Central and Southwest Queensland before securing other opportunities. Leann has had several decades in government at both state and federal levels as well as the Australian Red Cross. Leann sits on a number of state and national boards and in recognition of her influence, in 2016 received the Queensland Premier's Reconciliation Award. In this second instalment, Phil speaks with Leann about healing, having the tough but necessary conversations, and the role that truth-telling plays in fostering change.
