Meditation isn’t what you think it is.

It doesn’t have to be complicated, or even quiet.

You don’t have to sit in a cross-legged position with your hands in a mudra (you don’t even have to sit upright).

It’s not about clearing the mind.

Meditation can be accessible to everyone, because there are many ways to meditate. Meditation isn’t mindfulness. Meditation is a practice that brings you closer to who you are.

I’ve been meditating for a long time, but took six months of study with David Harshada Wagner to learn how to teach meditation specifically.

Meditation, by the way, isn’t just for being more at peace (though that certainly is a path for many). It’s about connecting to joy, experiencing ecstasy in everyday moments, it’s about witnessing who you are from a clearer lens.

A Star Without a Name

When a baby is taken from the wet nurse, it easily forgets her and starts eating solid food.

Seeds feed awhile on ground, then lift up into the sun.

So you should taste the filtered light and work your way toward wisdom with no personal covering.

That’s how you came here, like a star without a name.

Move across the night sky with those anonymous lights.

I first met Trish at Breathwork Healer Training 1, and being with Trish felt like home. It was only after meeting at training in Brooklyn that we realized we'd been in the same class at Wanderlust together.

Here, we recorded one of our many conversations, and spoke about breathwork, reiki, energy healing, meditation, magic and living in this time of the pandemic.

Trish is a Breathwork Facilitator, Reiki Master Practitioner and a founder of the Goddess Gatherings in Annapolis, MD. Her spiritual journey began when a medical emergency brought daily meditation and journaling into her life to support and advance her recovery. That unexpected twist put her on the path of self discovery and healing and ultimately led her to develop her practice.

Trish has studied under Erin Telford, a Breathwork facilitator and Reiki Master(amongst other things) and David Elliott, a Breathwork pioneer and completed a program focused on intuitive arts. She sees herself as a life-long student deepening her practice through on-going education and exploration. Intuitive and empathetic, she works with clients individually in person or virtually. On-site group or virtual sessions are also available. Trish believes—and knows from experience—that healing oneself ripples outward and is committed to donating a meaningful percentage of her time and proceeds to national and community charities including, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition “NOCC”, NOCC, Central MD, Chapter, among others. Her work as a founder of the Goddess Gatherings in Annapolis, MD, exemplifies her community spirit in its mission to provide women a safe place to explore their personal and spiritual development.

She resides in southern Maryland, just outside of Washington DC, with her son and husband. Her daughter, a market research analyst and artist, lives in Newport, RI.

Krista Reid was one of my first friends at Breathwork Healer Training, and she remains one of my best friends. With Krista living in Ottawa, Canada, negotiating an interview was tough, but now, with all my interviews going online, we were able to connect.

Bear with the sound, it gets better once I figure out where the speaker was supposed to go. Krista is a slice of real life heaven. Tune in.

More about Krista:

Creating safe and sacred space to explore and nurture a deep level of intimacy with your heart and what your energy feels like, using the power of breath and human connection for healing, is why I’m here. Through my training and practice in this technique and style of Breathwork, I have learned (and am still learning), that we all have the capacity to heal ourselves. With the proper tools and support, anything is possible.

This work has changed my life and as a seeker has taught me that I do not need to depend on anyone to 'heal or fix me'. The breath is the most magical and potent healing tool of all, that connects us directly to our light. I believe Breathwork is the next evolution in the healing arts and a self-selecting modality that makes it’s way in to your life when you are ready to shift and heal.

I am fortunate to share that this is my second conversation with Aimée. I reached out to her asking if she would take some time to share tips for how we can support our whole selves during this pandemic, and within the space of physical distancing. Aimée shared amazing tools and practices that we can apply without much effort, and from the comfort of our homes.

Aimée offers weekly virtual breathwork groups on Wednesday night. She is currently available for phone sessions, as well.

She mentioned that health care workers can have free access to headspace. I will share that info later, but if you don't have time to listen to this whole interview now, feel free to forward to about 50 minutes and tune in. Details to come. I just really wanted to get this out there. It gave me so much peace to speak with her.

Dr. Aimée Derbes, DACM, LAc is a welcoming, grounded soul. I first heard about her over a year ago, when looking for breathwork circles to attend. Everyone (everyone) recommended Aimée, including my teacher, Erin Telford. Today, Aimée has an acupuncture office with high ceilings, endless windows, and a view overlooking the Empire State Building. Not too shabby. ⁣

Aimée helps people reconnect with their innate vibrancy and wholeness, so they can navigate being human with more ease. Her Manhattan-based healing arts practice, Align Acupuncture, is a refuge for people who are ready to be deeply supported as they let go of living in chronic stress, refill their wells, and heal in a sustainable, lasting way. She offers acupuncture, Healing Touch/reiki, and breathwork sessions and groups in NYC, and works with people all over the country through virtual breathwork and Healing Touch sessions and online groups.

I met Kris at YTT and fell in love with her. I enjoyed the idea of pairing therapy with breathwork, and hoped it might someday happen. It has, and it's been wild. Listen in to learn more about Kris, her work, and her beautiful center, Peace of Mind.

She is the founding director of Peace of Mind Counseling and Wellness Center and Peace of Mind Yoga. Kristina is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and nationally board certified with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University. In 2008, under the guidance of Ruth Castellano, Kristina was introduced to Sandplay Therapy, a Jungian-based counseling modality that was instrumental to her growth both professionally and personally. Furthering her studies she became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and obtained her Certified Clinical Trauma Professional designation. All of these modalities allows Kris to connect and provide a safe space for people working through multiple life experiences.

Over the years Kris has committed her professional work to non-profit organizations in the trauma field as a counselor or supervisor. While working within the field, Kristina was able to identify the need for a holistic method including body, mind and spirit. The impact of her experiences motivated her to obtain her certification in yoga. Through NJ Yoga Teacher Training under the guidance of Stephanie Parcells and Cindy Romano, Kristina earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification.

When I first made the decision to have a plant based, vegan diet, I wasn't sure where to turn. Sure, there are tons of recipes on the web, but nothing beats a beautiful cookbook to leaf through, when planning meals.

As luck would have it, I have a friend who has a friend who has a friend, whose IG share rabbit hole brought me to Gianna Ciaramello, and her vegan cookbooks. I bought them both, and the rest is history.

Gianna is a young, talented cook with tons of enthusiasm and invention. An Italian girl who was raised helping her grandmother cook, she's now taking her talents in the direction of her in-progress third cook book, a vegan Italian cookbook.

Tune in and learn how she found her way to a vegan lifestyle, to creating a cookbook, and get excited for what she has in store.

I asked Gianna to tell me a bit about herself, and here's what she had to share, in her own words:

I have loved food with all of my heart since I was a little girl & cooking has been part of me since a very young age. Some of my most cherished memories come from the times I have spent in the kitchen with my mother & grandmother. When I was just three years old my mom used to pull a chair up to the counter & put me in charge of preparing string beans. I would stand on the chair & snap the ends off for her with the biggest smile on my face. It was a simple task, but the beginning of something bigger.

My passion for helping others soon evolved into finding a way to spread health & positivity in the least intimidating way. As someone who grew up having a toxic relationship with her body and food, I never thought that one day I would overcome these struggles, build healthy relationships with my body, and ultimately design a life around sharing my journey with others and helping to guide them to a place of self-love.

I feel that part of my life’s mission is to guide others to find this gift for themselves.

Healing is not linear. My soul resides in food and nourishing your highest self. I am here to create, support, love and thrive—and I encourage others to do the same.

Love is a loaded word, but the way in which we are discussing it today, it's actually pretty accessible. Gabrielle Ardolino started the Leave Love Project in a spontaneous way, with little expectation of the outcome. Her joy and enthusiasm around what's become something major is really contagious. Listen in and find out how you can leave love wherever you go.

Gabrielle has been a social activist & travel junkie for as long as she can remember. She is an old soul, a singer, writer, musician, and philanthropist. She is someone who does everything with intention, & integrity and who believes in the importance of the human connection. In 2018, she quit all of her jobs and went clear across the country to California to road trip from San Fran to San Diego, and then left to Hawaii for two months. It was a journey of growth, experience & love. While on her first stop in San Francisco, she decided to do something that would make people smile. She wrote notes to place along the Golden Gate bridge (which is the number one place in the United States to commit suicide) for those people who might need to see it. And out of that the LeaveLove Project was born. It has become the start of something so powerful and so incredible to be able to do and put my heart into. The LeaveLove Project is focused on the individual human experience, and from that the collective human experience. It is about leaving a little bit of love in every person we touch, in every place we visit. She currently lives in NJ with her fiancée.

Carolyn Mastrangelo is running for answers. Her mother experienced early-onset Alzheimer's disease at a young age, and like everyone else, Carolyn never really got any answers as to why. In her search for a cause, and support, Carolyn and her friend, Barbara, created a race called Running 4 Answers.

They chose to donate their proceeds to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund: www.curealz.org.

Listen in to hear her story. Here's a bit more, in her own words:

My name is Carolyn Mastrangelo. My mom had early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, starting at around the age of 55. I am a runner, and as a runner I look for races with causes I believe in. Despite looking throughout the tri-state area, I could not find a race benefitting Alzheimer’s. The idea to CREATE a race to benefit an Alzheimer’s organization brewed in my head for a few years. I became friends with a neighbor and fellow mom, Barbara Geiger. I told her the idea…she had fundraising and event planning experience, and I knew about running and races. Running 4 Answers, a race against Alzheimer’s, was born.

Over our first 10 years we have donated $365,000 to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, an organization whose sole focus is research and one that uses every dollar donated toward that research. The three founding families pay for all the overhead expenses.

Additionally, I am a personal trainer and nutrition coach with my own business for 7 years. I have been married to my husband, Paul, for 24 years. We have two daughters, Isabella (19) and Kate (almost 17).

Lauren Anne Mooney is someone that I am blessed to call a friend. Her open heart, witty personality, and honest shares always makes me feel like I'm home, when I'm with her. As a Reiki Master and Certified Breathwork Healer, Lauren is a vessel of love. We sat down and talked about how we met, and how our lives have changed since we became breathwork healers. Listen in.

Read more about Lauren here, in her own words:

I am a Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Breathwork Practitioner and Cannabis Advocate. And my passion is for helping people access freedom and peace in the purity of the present moment.

I believe we are all spiritual beings with souls and energy, even if we don’t feel connected to it all the time. As hectic as life can be (especially in NYC), each individual has the power to take a step back and reevaluate whenever, and however they choose. I want people to know they are loved, supported, and held. We are in this thing called life together.

I aim to make my work accessible by offering sliding scale + lower cost events. I believe in the healing power of cannabis, the individual, and the collective. Reiki, Cannabis, Breathwork, Space Clearing, Intention Setting are different paths to greater awareness and clarity.

I found Mike on social media last year when he was first opening his studio, Good Vibes Yoga + Kombucha Bar. He looked like a cool guy, and I liked the idea of the studio + kombucha, so I reached out. I asked if I could offer a breathwork circle at his studio, and the rest is history. He's an amazing guy, his heart is with yoga and spirituality, and he has an amazing group of people teaching for him. Listen in, and hear why I think Mike is so cool. Also, be sure to check him out on Instagram. Links are below!

Mike is owner and instructor at Good Vibes Yoga Bar in Nutley NJ. Now a little over one year after opening the growing practicing community that is Good Vibes, one can look at the past four years of Mike's life and see quite a transition. Growing up in NJ in a very loving Italian family, Mike's life was centered around that culture and would spend 11+ years working with, selling, and marketing products imported from Italy. Life was comfortable. There was good pay, there was a good job title, there was also a lot of indulgence. However even with such a comfortable position.. loss of his brother when he was younger, a cousin in 2016, and a few relationship struggles fueled inner struggle to find happiness and contentment. Yoga started as a physical support to other physical disciplines he was working on, but slowly seduced him into having his own yoga practice beyond the physical. This inspired curiosity in learning about the metaphysics behind spiritual practices and consciousness exploration. A few signs seemed to have popped up during this period of self inquisition that compelled Mike to making this yoga practice something he needed to put most of his efforts towards and to share with others. Eight years from first stepping on his mat, and now a little over two years from starting his teacher training, Mike is now fully immersed in teaching, managing the studio, and growing his practice.

Ginny Colarusso is the founder of Amp Yoga Studio. She started the studio to help spread the message of how yoga can heal.

Born and raised in Cranford, an E-RYT 500, Ginny has been restoring light to the community for over eleven years. She is a certified Advanced Reiki Practitioner, bringing her own creative spin to this energy clearing treatment using crystals, or high grade essential oils if requested, bringing through your deceased loved ones, angels, and guides. She trained with Reiki Master Ricardo DaCunha of Harrison, NJ & NYC. She has earned a Past Life Regressionist certificate and has done extensive clairvoyant training with the famous Psychic Medium Lindsey Sass of The NJ Healing Center in December of 2013, trained in the Michael Newton Method. She is able to assist you in connecting with the Akashic Records or reconnecting with a deceased loved one in a Connect to Spirit session to regain faith and hope of an afterlife, learn your life purpose, and receive comfort from the other side.

She believes that movement has the ability to heal the body and awaken the soul. Amp, to me, also means to raise or amplify your vibration. I grew up in a musical family and I know firsthand how music has the ability to stimulate the mind and body. At the age of 34, I was diagnosed as infertile, and used Yoga, Meditation, Massage, Acupuncture, and Chiropractic care to reverse that diagnosis. I have two beautiful daughters and am grateful for my journey.

When I first met Lisa Levine, it was during my HT4 training at Maha Rose. I said hello, and though our interaction was just minutes, I noticed that she had the brightest eyes and smile. I met her again, just a few days later, while interviewing Breathwork Healer, David Elliott, at Maha Rose North. She kindly invited my son and I to take a walk around the property and check out the dome. So today, on our third meeting, I was excited to finally sit down and talk with her. She is wonderful... a lit up burst of sunshine. It makes perfect sense that she leads The Joy Vibration, amongst other beautiful practices.

I loved chatting and laughing with her. Listen in to hear all the interesting things we spoke about, including how she got started on her incredible path.

Here's a bit more info about Lisa, from the Maha Rose page: Lisa Levine MS LAc is a licensed acupuncturist, Reiki master, a natural healer and an artist as well as the founder of Maha Rose. The tools she uses are needles and moxa, touch, shiatsu, Reiki, guided visualization, the breath, laughter, and on very full moons - a song.

She wants you to remember who you really are; letting go of everything that isn't serving you and connecting with your more radiant Self. She specializes in mental and emotional disorders as well as trauma and major life changes. She is available for acupuncture, reiki, bodywork and breathwork and group breathwork and laughter sessions. She also offers spiritual business coaching and consulting.

Lisa completed her Reiki Masters with Padma Gonzalez in 2008, her Breathwork Healer Training certificate from David Elliott in 2009 and graduated from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 2013.

I met Dox at a health food store in Basking Ridge and, as we spoke about food, I knew there was much more to the conversation. I invited him to come talk on the podcast, and am left in complete awe over our conversation. He is the REAL DEAL.

Dox Diggla, aka: Brick Citi Buddha, is the founder of MedEd, a comprehensive health & wellness service based on principles of yoga such as mindfulness, as well as meditative techniques that have a positive effect on all sheaths of the self: emotionally, spiritually, physically, energetically.

Born Jeffrey Gay, Dox was raised in a devout Christian household near one of the most notoriously violent urban areas in the U.S. He was a very inquisitive child with a unique perspective that was often rejected. He was frequently kicked out of Sunday school for asking what was perceived as blasphemous questions and once he realized how uncomfortable his perspective made others, he bottled them up until he began writing poetry as a teenager.

During his adolescent years, people noticed how talented he was as a writer. At the age of 13, he made a name for himself as one of the youngest poets to step food on stage at some of the most well known venues in the tristate area. As he entered young adulthood, he went on to college and had evolved into a very gifted author and speaker, but something was still missing.

He had witnessed God transform the lives of loved ones, notably his own sister, which inspired him to further delve into what his parents had been forcing onto him for the majority of his life. By the age of 19, he was giving full sermons throughout the state and making a name for himself in the realm of preaching, but once he began to uncover contradictions within the Bible’s holy text, he walked away from Christianity and the church. His family turned their back on him, forcing him to embody the role of the ‘black sheep’. Shortly thereafter, he dropped out of school and began pursuing rap and got involved in the streets.

He became addicted to women, alcohol, weed and fast moneystruggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. He was then faced with kidney failure and impaired vision. On the verge of dialysis and, a kidney transplant whilealmost completely blind, he hit rock bottom. His music career was failing, he lost jobs and relationships and was now well on his way to his 2nd suicide attempt. But in the nick of time, a friend of his found him on social media and offered him his online meditation course.

Through meditation, he learned how to process, release and transmute pain into power. Dox threw himself into the practice so deeply, that he was able to heal his kidneys, something the doctors said was impossible. He was also able to reverse complete blindness in his left eye.

He studied this practice to heal himself, but at a retreat he attended, he received orders from Spirit that it was time to share what he had been given. Reluctant but obedient, he started his free “Peace in the Park” community meditations in Newark. His first class had one attendee, but as he continued to honor Spirit’s orders, one evolved into fifty attendees. His class was the now the talk of the community.

As a primarily self-taught yogi, counselor, life coach, public speaker and artist, Dox has developed a keen ability to make esoteric teachings palatable, understandable and plain to his audience. He has helped himself, as well as hundreds of his clients.

Many clients give Dox credit for saving their lives as he was able to open up their minds hearts without intentionally taking on the role of a teacher. His purpose is, and continues to be, simply guiding those who need direction toward discovering the divine teacher within themselves.

He mentions Dr. Sebi: www.drsebicellfood.com

I enjoyed chatting with Juliet Patsalos-Fox and hearing her beautiful story, in her own words. She has had quite a life, and comes from a very interesting family. Her desire to create a beautiful experience for everyone who walks through the doors of Ride + Reflect is clearly translated during our conversation. Have a listen.

Ride + Reflect shares: Juliet Patsalos-Fox, our founder, was born and raised in London. She studied at Oxford and worked as a management consultant before moving to the USA in 1996 with her husband and three children. Throughout her life, Juliet has led an active lifestyle, but after being diagnosed and beginning treatment for colon cancer in 2010 faced an enormous challenge to regain her health. As part of her goal-oriented recovery, she set herself the ambitious target of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. After attending numerous seminars and reading extensively on the topic, Juliet realized that attaining this goal would only be possible by improving her mindfulness in tandem with her purely physical fitness.

Over the following year, Juliet relied heavily on a combination of indoor cycling, yoga and meditation to help get her in shape for the weeklong climb to ~19,000 feet above sea level. In October 2012, Juliet successfully reached the summit and completed her climb, capping off a remarkable recovery from surgery and chemotherapy. After returning from her trip, Juliet was inspired to bring a new concept in fitness to Somerset County. Ride+Reflect was founded to give area residents unique access to classes that would help them develop their fitness and mindfulness, empowering them to better tackle life's challenges.

I met Jason Kraus and his wife, Michelina, at a charity event for Halfway Home Animal Rescue team. They had a great story about their dog, Bubbins, and Jason wrote a book about it. But the book is more than just a true rescue story, it's a book about compassion, about hope. Jason uses the book to educate children about rescues, and how to treat animals. This conversation was far deeper and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

Jason has only written one book, Belly Rubbins For Bubbins. He always had the dream of writing a book one day but instead became an IT Recruiter, Government Background Investigator, and a Financial Crimes Analyst. After rescuing a senior pit bull, he became inspired. Gibbson (AKA Bubbins 😉) came to Jason and his wife, Michelina, with a thyroid cancer diagnosis. Jason and Michelina wanted to give Gibbson a good ending to his life, instead he gave them a new beginning and perspective on theirs. His unconditional love, resilience and endless appetite for affection inspires Jason and Michelina every day to be better people. Jason thought the world should know from a very young age the true loving nature of rescue dogs, especially pit bulls. So he wrote a book and gave back to the world by giving away 51% of profits, because the more you give, the more you get.

Allison is totally rad. I don't often use words like that to describe people, but it's completely her vibe. I first met her at Breathwork Healer Training in Brooklyn and have loved her ever since. She holds breathwork circles, women's groups, and offers meditation classes. She actually does lots more, but I'll let you hear it for yourself.

We recorded our conversation in a big, airy conference room at The Wing in SoHo. Keep that in mind when noticing the sound.

Allison is a music lover, guacamole maker, compassionate healer, and stress reduction coach.

Through breathwork, EFT, meditation, and transformational coaching, she supports busy, stressed out people and helps them move from "survive" to "thrive".

She owns Feel Awesome/Be Awesome a lifestyle and wellness brand that offers easy-to-incorporate health tips with a side of humor, music, and style in 1:1 and group coaching settings.

Judit and I had our first meeting in a yoga studio I'd invited her to, to see if she'd offer breathwork and sound with me. Right away, we hit it off. We had our first event together later that month, and since then, I've gotten to know her pretty well. Judit is a gem. She has so much to share, and it all begins with the bowls.

Since 2003, Judit has been guiding people into the sublime realms of the soul through classes, workshops and retreats. She has taught Yoga for all these years but now is focusing full time to Sound Healing with Tibetan Singing Bowls as she has connected to this beautiful practice at a very deep level. Judit is certified by Atma Buti International Sound Healing & Vibration Institute located in Boulder, Colorado, and she has also trained with Katherine Hamer in New York City.

Judit integrates all her knowledge and passion to help clients reach their full potential. She feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to India, Nepal and Tibet to deepen her practice and to experience the mysticism of the East.

She is currently seeing clients privately at her Home studio in NJ and offering workshops in the USA and internationally, with the sole intention that people reconnects to their own hearts and soul's mission in this lifetime.

When I first met Stacey Sexton, it was through a breathwork mentorship program led by Erin Telford. Stacey is the co-creator of The Sex Oil, and is also a breathwork healer. She's a brave, tell-it-like-it-is kind of woman that I found to be more and more amazing, as I got to know her.

I learned a lot about Stacey, about her business - she shared a BIG SECRET about her business - being a mom, and more. I love the story of her magical (literally) childhood in New Orleans, her grandma Ruby, and how she got called into this sacred life.

We recorded our conversation in a big, airy conference room at The Wing in SoHo. Keep that in mind when noticing the sound.

Stacey Sexton is a Reiki Master, Breathwork facilitator, Mama, and co-owner of the plant-based intimate skincare line, The Sex Oil, that bridges together the synergy of natural aphrodisiacs and energy work to reconnect people back to their sensuality. She believes in #pleasurepoweredbyplants, the medicine of laughter, human touch, and that mothers rekindling their creative fire is part of our collective healing. Her offerings include workshops, speaking events, energy healing and all-natural botanical products.

I first met Carol Anne Patterson at Yoga Teacher Training. She was teaching the Anatomy component and, despite never believing I had an interest in anatomy, Carol Anne made it exciting. I began following her on social media, and within six months of our first meeting (and at the urging of a friend), I decided to do Reiki training with her.

I have learned more from Carol Anne than I have from most, and I am so happy to have chosen her as my teacher. As they say, when the student is ready, the teacher appears.

Shortly after this conversation, I did my Reiki Level 3 Attunement with Carol Anne and have been on Cloud 9 ever since. Carol Anne shares so much about her path, her choices, and living the Reiki life.

Carol Anne Patterson has dedicated the last thirty years to sharing healing energy with others. Her passion is in helping others to live their best lives by connecting them to the limitless potential for healing that exists within us all.

As an Intuitive Reiki Master Teacher, a Physical Therapist and a Yoga Therapist, she has a unique toolbox that allows her to truly meet you where you are...body, mind and spirit.

Carol Anne offers private Reiki and Yoga Therapy sessions as well as Reiki Trainings and classes in Cranford, NJ.

I remember my first breathwork experience with Erin Telford. My heart burst open and I knew that she was going to be my first teacher. I've attended her live groups, virtual groups (including Sacred Terrain), workshops at Maha Rose; I even did a mentorship with her called Deepen Your Practice. There are many reasons to love her, and as you listen in to the conversation that we recorded at the Wing, you'll discover them for yourself.

Erin Telford is a Breathwork facilitator and healer, acupuncturist, Reiki Master, herbalist and a teacher of David Elliott's Level One Breathwork Healer Training. Her work guides people to look within, open their hearts and heal their relationship with themselves. Her group sessions, trainings and retreats empower her clients to connect to their innate wisdom so that they can find the answers they are looking for.

Erin believes that we all hold core wounds and limiting beliefs that subconsciously run our lives. When we somatically release them from the emotional body and the nervous system, there is freedom on the other side. Our emotions are messengers with information that let us know where to direct our healing and compassion. By de-stigmatizing emotions and the human experience, we can take shame off the table and start to really deal with what's under the depression, anxiety, and patterns that keep us contracted.

She has created Breathwork experiences for Free People, the Soul Cycle/Soul Legends retreat, In goop Health NYC and Wanderlust Festival. Her work has been featured in Shape Magazine, Nylon, NY Magazine, Well + Good, The Numinous and in Refinery 29 as one of “6 Women Who Are Redefining Wellness." She currently resides in Topanga Canyon and is writing her first book.

I remember the first time I saw Melodee Solomon's work. It was a photo she'd taken of my teacher, Erin Telford. I was blown away by the way the light appeared in the photo, the softeness of the environment, and the way that Erin's energy came through. It took months for me to find the courage to step in front of her lens, and all that courage mustering was pointless, because Melodee is all heart.

I was so nervous to meet her that first time, taking care to be super respectful of the time and professional boundaries. Find out more about what it's been like to work with Melodee in my blog post here: www.tiffanycurren.com/blog/the-light-and-magic-that-is-melodee-solomon

Melodee has photographed hundreds of artists, healers, and conscious entrepreneurs in the wellness industry around the U.S. Her intention is to create imagery for projects, leaders, and movements that aim to implement healthier systems (internally and externally) for humanity and the planet. With her camera as a sacred tool, she births images into the world that spark curiosity for sustainable change; to bring consciousness to concepts that will help push forward human evolution and a thriving living planet.

Melodee's main inspiration is the relationship between healing of the self, creativity, and healing of the Earth. Mostly shooting outdoors, she weaves sacred ritual into her creative process by making offerings of sage, tobacco, corn, piñon and cedar to the land she works on. Each photo shoot is a conscious exchange between the sun, land, and essence of the subject. Through the medium of photography, coupled with the awe-inspiring quality of nature, she artfully reconnects humans to the life-force that flows through all living things.

Beyond her camera work, Melodee is a breath work facilitator, dedicated student of personal healing, and continues to explore the unfolding of how her gifts can further play into the larger role Earth stewardship.

What a pleasure it was for me to spend time with Michelle, Retik. This Pastry Chef opened a grainless baks shop in Short Hills, NJ called Squirrel & the Bee, and hasn't looked back (she hasn't had time).

She began exclusively cooking with nut flours and raw local honey in 2012 after experiencing little success with traditional medical treatment for Ulcerative Colitis. Michelle switched to a restrictive dietary regimen that eliminated all grains, refined sugars and most dairy and immediately began experiencing relief in her symptoms. She is now completely symptom free. Word spread of her baked goods and Michelle soon found demand for her specialty pastry treats for others both on and off the restrictive diets.

I (along with everyone that I know) am obsessed with The Pasta Shop. Everything they offer is hand crafted. They have the most incredible food, including homemade mozzarella (which they also use to make their homemade mozzarella sticks), crafted salads, amazing Chicken Parm and more. Their pasta is made fresh daily, and their gluten-free pasta has it's own pasta machine to ensure it's safe for people to eat. I can rave for days, so please check out my blog about The Pasta Shop, here: (provide link).

I loved sitting down with Chef Tommy Polio, co-owner of the Pasta Shop. Normally, I see him in the restaurant expediting food or on the line, so to have this time to get the story behind it all was a real treat.

Tommy Pollio began his culinary career as a teenager in his native New Jersey. Over the next 20 years he honed his skills in some of the country’s best restaurants in Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco. He has since returned to New Jersey and co-owns a restaurant called The Pasta Shop, where he “goes back to his roots” and focuses on making hand formed pastas and Italian American classics.

David Elliott is an author, teacher and Breathwork Healer. When I first found breathwork, I knew how special the practice was, and when I asked what it was called, everyone said similar things like, "It's David Elliott's method of breathwork. I didn't know who David was, but I kept hearing his name. When I began Healer Training, I quickly learned all about David, and how he came to discover breathwork. Wanting to know more, I read his book, "The Reluctant Healer" followed by "Healing."

I've been going to trainings with David, and somehow got lucky enough to sit down with him to have this conversation. We met at the beautiful property of Maha Rose North in Hurley, NY. Gratitude to Lisa Levine for allowing us to use her sacred space for this recording. We settled in on a screened-in porch with a backdrop full of endless trees and a bright, blue sky. You'll hear cars passing on the road, but you'll also hear the sweet sounds of the wooded outdoors. It is my deep honor to present this conversation to you.

Learn more about David by checking out his website, books, social media, and more. All the information you'll need is below, beginning with his biography (taken from his website).

About David Elliott: Author, teacher and healer David Elliott has spent over two decades helping and inspiring clients from around the world to heal their deepest fears, blocks and negative beliefs. Though no client is the same, the formula he uses never varies.

David combines his intuitive gift of clairaudient hearing to help expedite the healing process for all who work with him, gently guiding and revealing deeply buried histories or beliefs with gentle compassion and grace. His process is effective in all areas of his work, from private sessions working one-on-one with clients to the group work he leads during healing retreats around the world.

In 2001, David established the Healer Training Level 1 class and over the past decade has expanded and developed the course to include 4 different levels of training. The Healer Training series serves as a major catalyst for personal growth and expansion, even for those who wouldn't consider themselves a 'healer'.

I was so excited to have Megan come into the studio to read my Tarot cards. Listen in to hear what I thought about the reading, how she found Tarot, and about all the other cool things that she's doing, including teaching yoga for the New York City Yoga Project.

Megan Cecilia is a healer in multiple modalities based in NYC. Meg was gifted with tarot cards by a friend in college and has always had a healthy respect for the divining arts. It wasn’t until she got sober four years ago when the Spirit began to show up more and more in her life and tarot became the medium of her choice to connect. Tarot has since been providing her and her clients the intuitive push they needed to further deepen their understanding of themselves and their purpose in this journey on Earth. Meg is honored to serve as a bridge between today’s modern mystic and the ancient wisdom we are all inherently born with. To be of service is her highest honor and to make alternative healing methods radically accessible is her mission.

I have had the good fortune of knowing Mike Michalowicz and his family for over ten years. When they first moved into our neighborhood, a mutual friend told me that his wife, Krista, was lovely and I'd enjoy getting to know her. I brought a bag of homemade granola to them, welcoming them to Mountain Lakes. (I had no idea whose door I was knocking on -- the Michalowicz family!)

A lot has changed since then, but one thing has always remained the same: Mike is a hard-working, funny as all get out kinda guy. Listen in as we discuss his book, Profit First, and some other little tidbits from Mike that you'll be glad you got.

Mike mi-KAL-o-wits is the author of Profit First, Surge, The Pumpkin Plan, and his newest release Clockwork. By his 35th birthday, Mike had founded and sold two companies - one to private equity and another to a Fortune 500. Today he is running his third multi-million dollar venture, Profit First Professionals.

Mike is a former small business columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the former business makeover specialist on MSNBC. Over the years, Mike has traveled the globe speaking with thousands of entrepreneurs, and is here today to share the best of what he has learned.

Stephen makes my heart feel so full, and when you listen to this podcast track, you'll hear why. I met him through breathwork, and then discovered that he is also a Feng Shui consultant. I brought him on to talk about all of this cool stuff, and was shocked to learn about his other job (his whaaat?)

Also, have a minute to read more about Stephen, in his own words:

I’m a breathwork facilitator, Reiki healer, and Feng Shui consultant practicing in NYC, Jersey City and Philadelphia.

Originally from Southern California, I have lived in and around NYC since 2004. My spiritual path really took off in 2007 with an opportunity to study Feng Shui with an esteemed master, Vincent Smith. Less than a year later and definitely as a result of that work, I found myself in a spiritual program of recovery where I learned to pray and meditate, building a solid relationship with Spirit.

About 2 years ago I completely fell in love with breathwork, and it has seriously changed my life for the better. In that short time, I’m very fortunate to have trained with master teachers Erin Telford and David Elliott, completing Breathwork Healer Training Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Reiki Level 1 with Erika Spring.

Daniela Gil has the BEST energy. I absolutely loved our conversation about the Akashic Records. Listen in and learn what the Akashic Records are, how she reads them and what it means to have your records opened, with some neat stories. You'll also hear how she found her way to this space of high vibrations after hitting rock bottom, and how hitting rock bottom just may be the best gift.

ABOUT DANIELA: The first time Daniela said a prayer to access the Akashic Records, she knew that sharing Akashic perspective was her dharma. Her entire body and consciousness were flooded with immense love and divine energy and she experienced Akashic perspective with incredible lucidity.

Since then, she has committed her life to sharing Akashic perspective in service to humanity’s empowerment, elevation of consciousness, and embodying of greater love, trust and possibility. She travels internationally to share Akashic Practitioner Trainings, Akashic retreats, and speaking engagements. Daniela offers one-on-one Sessions and Practitioner Trainings remotely and in person wherever she is.

Daniela is a graceful, intelligent channel of Akashic perspective; she delivers Akashic insight and energy with crystalline clarity, integrity, and love.

Concetta Bertoldi is the real deal. She has given me information about my loved ones who have passed on that no one could have known, and the details were completely on point.

I sat down with her to talk about her new book, "I Kissed a Ghost (and I Liked It)." Hear amazing stories from the other side, and some very cool stories about her life, her family, and more (including the time she took LSD (a hilarious retelling), and the how she first told her husband that she spoke with dead people).

Concetta is a vivacious medium and New York Times bestselling author whose newly released 4th book “I Kissed a Ghost (and I Liked It)” shows us how to see evidence of ghosts and spirits in the world and how they can help someone understand their soul’s divine purpose.

Her first book “Do Dead People Watch You Shower?” hit the New York Times bestseller list in 2008. She followed that success with a sequel “Do Dead People Walk Their Dogs?” and “Inside the Other Side.”

Concetta’s clients range from members of Britain’s royal family to Hollywood celebrities, politicians, and everyone in between. She has a very long waiting list for private readings. She does live events that include psychic readings for standing-room-only crowds. Concetta appeared on “The Real Housewives of NJ” giving a reading to Melissa Gorga.

Concetta lives in New Jersey with her skeptical husband John.

You can buy all of her books wherever fine books are sold. The titles are:

"Do Dead People Watch You Shower? And Other Questions You've Been All But Dying to Ask a Medium"; "Do Dead People Walk Their Dogs? Questions You'd Ask a Medium if You Had the Chance"; "Inside the Other Side"; and her most recent book, "I Kissed a Ghost (and I Liked It)."

This Tuesday Dip, I share my incredible struggle to soften into vulnerability and intimacy and my first deep dive into letting go and allowing myself to be exposed. (You will hear my dog, Rocco, barking in the background.)

I mention something that my friend and fellow breathwork healer, Chris, shared with me about intimacy being hard, but I want to clarify, because what he really said was in response to me asking about operating through intimacy without alcohol. He recognized that the transition can be hard, at first, but that it's just part of the growth process.

Chris and I talk about breathwork healing, astrology, and how those two things work so well together. A Southerner by birth and a New Yorker for the last two decades, Chris Phipps is a breathwork healer and astrologer, in addition to working in technology as a product developer and strategist. Emerging from a dark period of addiction in the mid-00s, Chris has spent the last 12 years studying multiple spiritual practices that have brought the version of himself that he currently sees in line with the same one Spirit and others see. A few years ago, breathwork emerged as one of the brightest of those spiritual practices. Chris recalls, "No other modality has made me so comfortable in my skin, so able to see myself and others around me authentically. It started as something I did with friends and soon became something I wanted to bring to other people so that their own self-reflections could match the experience I was having.”

Having been certified via the Healer Training instruction of David Elliott and Erin Telford, Chris now offers breathwork sessions, both solo and with his business partner, Stephen Roehler, to help people really uncover who they are. He also offers astrology readings that guide people through what blocks them and what is ultimately possible. He’s currently studying with astrologer Adam Sommer and will be certified within the next year.

Conversation with Kacy Erdelyi, owner of Joyist.

When Kacy and her family made the leap from NYC to the suburbs five years ago, they were surprised to find that many of the businesses and services they assumed would be readily available in one of NJ’s wealthiest and most progressive towns were missing. For years, she watched every storefront that turned over in her town, waiting for the day that healthy option would open. She knew she wasn’t the only person, and hers wasn’t the only town, with a need for better food. Finally, she had waited long enough, and decided to do it herself.. Last summer, Joyist Montclair became a reality, bringing fresh, organic options to on-the-go suburbanites.

Before starting her chain of organic cafes, Kacy worked as a marketing strategy and consumer psychology expert for 15 years. Most recently, she was Head of Integrated Strategy for Ogilvy & Mather, the world’s largest advertising firm. During her time in the industry, she helped small and large businesses identify market opportunities, choose their targets, and craft their offering and communications to make the biggest impact. She has worked with hundreds of brands, and has learned invaluable lessons about what to do and, sometimes more importantly, what not to do.

Personally, she believes strongly in the power of food, and prioritizes an organic, produce-rich diet for herself and her family. She loves blends that sneak a few servings of vegetables in but still taste delicious - so efficient! Kacy lives in Montclair with her husband and two children Luke (8) and Natalie (3).
