This is the third episode in a seven-part series that introduces us to Jesus of Nazareth through the actual stories of people who had their lives transformed through an encounter with Jesus. In this episode, we see Jesus giving two people way more than they anticipated when they came to him for help.

This is one of my favorite stories in the Gospels, and the idea that this might be Jairus’ personal testimony of how he became a follower of Jesus makes it even better. I hope that is actually what happened. Either way, it’s still a great story with another great story that takes place right in the middle of it. Scholars call this a “Mark Sandwich” and I hope you enjoy it!
