Justin Bullock, MD wrote his story "Suicide - Rewriting My Story" about mental health and a suicide attempt while he was in the hospital. He is a runner, a physician, and an advocate for bipolar disorder and mental health for physicians. Justin won the Sharp Index advocacy award for 2020 and has been sharing his story. The reminder is that, just because I talk about something, does not mean it is easy for me to talk about. I sat down with Justin to discuss advocacy and mental health. Most hospital systems or medical schools, while they teach about mental illness and mental health, would prefer not to have any doctors who are sick.
