Psalm 147:1

“Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.“

I can recall as a young boy trying to sing louder than a girl in our class. It might have blown some of the vital vocal chords in the process, for I have lacked vocal acuity for as long as I can remembeR.

I love and appreciate music, but I simply cannot express it in the manner I desire. At times I have heard people sing that seemed to think they could sing, but what they thought and what they produced was vastly different.

I look forward to the day when we will gather around the Thrown of God and sing with voices that are perfect in pitch, parameter, and purpose. Until that day I will enjoy listening to the voices of those blessed with the gift of music.

It is wonderful that our praise to the Lord does not depend on our ability, but upon our availability. Give yourself to the Lord in all that you do and your actions will become a sweet, pleasant, and comely sound of praise to Him!
