By all outward appearances, Abraham and Sarah's case seemed impossible. They both, at different times, laughed at God's promise to them. God is not only interested in the outcome; he is much more interested in our journey, and who we become. The account we read of them in the verses below shows us how far they had come from where they started.

Romans 4: 18-20 [VOICE]- Against the odds, Abraham’s hope grew into full-fledged faith that he would turn out to be the father of many nations, just as God had promised when He said, “That’s how many your descendants will be.”[a]His faith did not fail, although he was well aware that his impotent body, after nearly 100 years, was as good as dead and that Sarah’s womb, too, was dead.In spite of all this, his faith in God’s promise did not falter. Hebrews 11:11 [VOICE]- By faith Abraham’s wife Sarah became fertile long after menopause because she believed God would be faithful to His promise.
