Jake Daniels is the first professional footballer in women's football to come out his game. There are plenty of football players and women's professional footballer open again. It's never been a problem, but this feels they use cultural moment for football, especially join a year when the World Cup is in Guitar Country, where homosexuality is illegal on can result in imprisonment. J plays for Blackpool is only 17. I've never been to a football match in any of the leagues in the UK except for the women's Super League, where the experience was open and family friendly. And let me to take my daughter to see your favourite team. And just, you know, there's no heckling of the opposition players. When I say heckling, I'm coming. From a comedian's point of view, it's a lot more visit. Suspicious than that. I've been to a lot of Gaelic football and hurling and rugby matches with this plenty of banter, but you don't experience the same ritual. You can experience it football games in England. There's a really hate in there somewhere. Real anger. I mean, I've interviewed former hooligans for podcasts and understand that this aggression is part of fitting in a certain way on, despite the progress of the past 20 years towards the middle class it there's no doubt that what Jake has done will have used ramifications for him and his team has regresses to his career. This is his statement. I feel the time is right to be myself before you'd be confident. I'm hoping that by coming out I could be a role model. I'm only 17, but I'm clear that this is what I want to do. It's extraordinary that this could even be an issue in any profession. But in football it seems to be the way. Growing up in Cork, the greatest hurling goalkeeper over age was Donald Cusack and it came out as gay. There was a certain amount of shock from fellow players and then acceptance that ever seem to just get on with it. No doubt they've been many, many more who was thinking of doing the same. Hopefully this will push everyone from the terraces to the boardroom in the right direction
