Jack Dorsey is the co founder of Twitter. Man has just condemned the media for creating conflict. It's hard to know where to start with that statement, because Twitter wasn't set up to create conflict in itself or divide society along polarising lines are encouraged trolling to such an extent. You wonder what's happened to humanity or have discourse in all manner of complex subjects reduced to a lot of shouting and words and caps. It wasn't meant to make people's attention span reduced down to the time it took to post to give her ruin people's lives who posted something that they did without even thinking and without context made them look like the worst person in the world. Or maybe even with context, they still look like the worst person in the world. It's hard to know whether the tail is wagging the dog of the other way around. His news networks chased the ads and the clicks and the youth market, and whether or not Twitter could really be held responsible for creating this atmosphere of desperation, along with Facebook and Instagram, that has made the network so desperate that they've started swinging wildly to the left and right on reporting opinions instead of news to keep hold of whatever following our revenue stream they have news is almost becoming bespoke. The stage where you're like we're sending you down particular rabbit holes to give you the news you'd like rather than the news as it is. Do you, Keith? I take the point that's valid. That Twitter may not be much better than the news challenge, but surely we should be holding them up to a better standard Jacquot. I just heard the word standards there. This is something that is always going to be tricky in terms of free speech. Who, exactly decides the standard of comment that's allowed online? That's what a massive issue for Twitter that has allowed for some quite out there groups to coagulate together. That's reaffirming whatever massive bias to have towards or against whatever it is they hate. So, hey, why don't we just shut Twitter all for a while? You've retired and see if news could become news again.
