Ashleigh Barty, world tennis women's number one, has just retired at the age of 25. She has retired at the age of 25. Say it one more time now the shock of the sports world. But there shouldn't be because a few shows ago I spoke about the pressure and the heckling put on Naomi Osaka while playing in Indian Wells. We should really look carefully at how we treat sports people, especially women. But I mean local. Let's talk about how we treat women generally and will never stop, so this really shouldn't come as a surprise. Dear Keith, I am leaving. Tell us to chase other dreams. I won three Grand Slam singles events, including this year's Australians Open, becoming the first home player to win on Australian Open in 44 years. I've just collected over 17 million in prize money. I'm proud and I'm fulfilled. Dear Ashley Wow, just wow. This is perhaps the most elegant exit ever from any sport ever. You're in your mid twenties, your top of your game, lots of money in the bank. Ah, hero in Australia and somehow in the midst of what might be the most incredible adrenaline rush ever. You were able to calmly say, That's all, folks. I'm going on to enjoy the rest of my life immediately. People are going to speculate that you're playing with sport. Excel somewhere else is Michael Jordan tried to when he moved from basketball to baseball. But why would you? What a beautiful way to go out now. You could just go find another life to live and hopefully enjoy that, because it's clear that you've earned it well done.
