Naomi Osaka. The 24 year old former number one tennis star was knocked out of the Indian Wells tournament in the second round but was also brought to tears as she was heckled during the match. This was the same tournament where the Williams sisters were heckled in 2000 and one on who refused to play there for almost 14 years after the events. Naomi Osaka was also in the news last year when she refused to speak to the media after matches, citing her struggles with her mental health. Keith, I don't understand why someone would have called me. Why would someone come to imagine Shout, You suck? Don't they think I know that? What's wrong with Indian Wells? I did my best and had a bad day. I hate crying in public, but sometimes it's all a bit much. I know I'm a professional sports person and that's it seems I'm fair game for anyone to have a swing at, but I wish that wasn't the case. Dear Naomi. As a comedian, I get heckled all the time, sometimes the heckles or even positive or encouraging. But the people heckling are aware that I can turn it back in them almost instantly. And so there's an even playing field. Unfortunately, you met with the most cowardly of hecklers. Who knows that you can't just pick up a microphone and start to be a little him in front of an audience for being so rude and selfish, although that said it might be worth packing a megaphone in your tennis bag. So the next time it happens you can shock the idiot by roaring back in his face. But the thing is, now only you're betterthan that. But maybe once, just once, it might feel nice to turn around and shout, No, you suck! You're sitting in the stands, paying to watch people sucking, so your life sucks. Ah, lot more.
