today is all about awards here on Dear Keith. As the Oscars have just announced, they will be hosted by three multi award winning women Regina King, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. They have a tough job on their hands, though, as the Golden Globes pretty much disappeared from view with no TV coverage after year of scandals due to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's lack of diversity and allegations of corruption, de Baftas are imminent and seemed to be the only British institution not mired in controversy right now. But let's see what we can do to help Amy want to and for Gina. Dear Keith, we're writing to you because we would like to make the Oscars a memorable one for all the right reasons. Let me stop you there. Want to Amy and Regina? First of all, you don't really need my help. You'll do great. You're all incredibly talented. Established performance will hit the mark. Say your lines, bring the house down as it is and will be polished and professional as we could ever ask for. The problem's not with you. That's what the relevance of award ceremonies that awards people awards for pretending to be other people or for the facilitators of that pretence. The world is still reeling from a global pandemic on the fact that a TV series about Starr was favourite. Boba Fett wasn't very good. We're on the brink of another world war on, so it's such it's hard to focus on this show regardless of who's presenting it. Also, the fact you initials Wanda, Amy and Regina spell war isn't going to help. It's right to celebrate the art of cinema, but it rarely coincide with the need for mindless escapism. While Spider Man No Way Home was the highest grossing film of the year on for Fans, it was not in any way mindless. It was the Spider Man film we all wanted to needed. Audiences don't necessarily want to celebrate the cerebral right now. There's too much going on, and we want distraction. Whatever happens, we wish you all the best on what with great power. Hosting the Oscars comes great responsibility. You could probably afford to just relax and enjoy yourselves a little bit
