We receive power when the Holy Spirit works in our lives. In Acts the Holy Spirit came like fire, or an "indoor cyclone". He enabled Peter to speak the word of God boldly. The evidence of the book of Acts is that when the Holy Spirit comes He brings power for change, for healing, power for courage and boldness.
Be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18) Keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit. The disciples in Acts were baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, for the common good. (1 Cor 12:31, 14:1)
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit. He is not an "it", He is a person. When we sin, we grieve Him. Ephesians 4:30 Don't break His heart.
