In this episode, hosts Matt & Liza are joined by Emma Pickering, Senior Operations Manager at Refuge, as they look at technology assisted abuse, what it is, how to spot and how you stop it.

Emma explains what technology assisted abuse is, the signs, and the various tools used by perpetrators, including everyday devices such as ring doorbells, mobile phones, home hubs, along with stalkerware, listening and tracking devices.

She also talks about the connection with other forms of abuse, the rise in deep fake technology, and sharing intimate images, along with the impact felt by survivors who find themselves isolated, scared and confused.

The episode also looks at the limitations of the family court, and how a lack of response to stalking and harassment online is leaving vulnerable survivors at even greater risk.

If you are at any immediate risk of domestic abuse, please call the police. You can also access help and support from the 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247
