In this fifth episode of the Mandible podcast, show host Jesse "Hesh" Heshel discusses the importance of mind and thinking. Mind is about how you think about the world. You have to have a strategy, a way that you will approach life. Taking an action, without thought – also known as thoughtlessness – is simply foolish. You will not get to where you want to go and not be who you want to be without thinking deeply about the issues that affect you in that quest.

We discuss “mind-set” which is about perspectives about the world or worldviews. There are three steps to crafting a strategic mind that men can undertake. We establish a “mind-set” in order to evaluate competing strategies and even combative and hostile strategies, worldviews and perspectives. You have to have both shield and spear mentally.

Resilience is also another part of our mindset that we can cultivate so that we view problems and challenges in a specific way. We also discuss how intelligence isn’t the same as a worldview; there are a lot of smart people in the world who do a lot of dumb things. You don’t have to have a 140 IQ to develop a strategic mind. In closing – develop a mind that is worthy of and supports your journey towards being your greatest and most excellent self in the world. Until then – set your face towards greatness.
