When faith hits the wall: John 6.60-70

We learnt last week that there is always more to discover and experience in the journey of discipleship, as we grow into mature followers of Christ.  Many start this journey but then throw it in and live a life disconnected from the biblical foundations they once held to.  In many cases, their journey starts out wonderful, with a sense of belonging and a hunger for knowledge, even discovering ways in which they can serve using their gifts.  Then along comes the wall - a catalytic event or period of disillusionment where they are faced with the choice to journey inward, stand still or journey away. The wall is when our discipleship is on the line. The wall is the fork in the road where our will meets God’s will and we have to decide whether we are willing to surrender all over again and let God direct our lives or leave altogether.
