hi, everyone, and welcome back to what's trending a show where I wanna unpack the latest and digital culture. So let's get into it. Instagram has finally brought back It's chronological feed after six years have been stuck with an annoying algorithmic sorting based on who and what the thinks you like. It looks like the ongoing complaints from users have finally paid off. The long-awaited sorting is now accessible through to new models following, and favorites these were launched into limited testing back in January. The first following shows you post from people you following chronological order, while Favorite shows you the latest post from a list of specific accounts. So this can include a curated list of your favorite influences celebrities, brands and even some of your friends, and can go up to 50 accounts. And although this sounds great on paper, these changes do come with a cat. Yeah, regardless of what you prefers to select, the instagram always default back to the algorithmic home feed. So every time you go into instagram, you'll need to manually select if you want to see your following feed or your favorite feed. Also, Instagram is not completely letting go of it suggested user feature plans to add more user recommendations to your feed based on your interest, which they plan to roll out steadily in the upcoming months. Although this is a bit annoying, the fact that they're introducing chronological feeds is a step towards giving users more control over their usage of the service. But if I'm being honest, I'm not too sure will be enough to completely save Instagram. I mean, it is six years too late.
