What’s it like being a disabled journalist? This week, Shruti tells us all about their experience as a disabled journalist, from their time studying journalism at Emerson College to working as an intern at NPR. She shares the ups and downs she went through as a student journalist turned student activist, and how she has worked to blend the two together to meaningfully cover the intersection of race and disability. Shruti and Harper also discuss the problems with journalistic objectivity and the ways the industry can be reshaped to include and amplify marginalized voices.
