Next Generation Leaders celebrates the achievements of young alumni of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. Joining us in this episode is Billy Manggala, a social media expert and copywriter for Polartec, a B2B textile company that supplies advanced fabrics to apparel brands like Patagonia, Columbia, and other big name outdoor and streetwear brands. Manggala graduated from the SOJC in 2018 with bachelor’s degrees in journalism, advertising, and cinema studies. In this episode he describes being drawn to Portland by an exciting job offer after being let go from Airbnb during the pandemic.
