Hey guys, its Basito Again Today I will be talking about tiktok and Afrobeats music, you know, recently CKay’s success on tiktok open Nigerian artists eyes to the possibilities of scoring, uh, globally, hit on the platform. You know, lately Nigerian artists have been focusing their music promotion on Tiktok basically with the aim of scoring a hit. But most times they end up scoring viral on instead, due to the fact that the challenges are that are attached to the song. on the platform get watered down on the long run like you know, the songs are overused, overplayed and the challenges are taking overboard. You see people pouring different substances on like different liquids on themselves, over and over. So which makes people lose interest in the songs. The songs get to peak very early, you know, like the song just go up like once, then just come down. It reaches its peak like very, very early at the early stage of the release of the song, like we've seen songs like uh, Pheelz’ finesse. Black Sherif’s Kwaku The Traveller. then also Wande Coal’s gentility. Although we’ve had the Afrobeats songs like Love Nwantiti, Joro, uh, sad girls love money. that transcended, uh, beyond Nigerian tiktok species to become a Global hits. But for me, I believe, uh, songs get watered down on tiktok. Uh, Nigeria space.
