Episode 151 focuses in on Midland Independent School District's School Board voting 4-3 to change the name of Legacy High School to Lee High School. Damien and Courtney give their thoughts and opinions on the decision to once again enshrine the confederacy into the lives of students, once again hindering the towns image, while furthering to divide a community already struggling to find unity. Three members of the board voted with courage and to the will of their constituents. Four continue to be puppeteer-ed by their greater masters as their quest to irreparably damage our kids education continues.

Kathleen is a diamond in the desert. A defender of those who can’t defend themselves. We discuss her advocacy of people with intellectual disabilities and 2 changes in Texas law that came from her hard work. Then Kathleen, Damien and Courtney discuss Meals on Wheels and Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving as they partner up to provide much needed to support to home bound seniors of west Texas.

The Millennial Moment is non existent as our residential millennial was too tired to do his homework!

Courtney’s week is slower than usual although we find out Courtney resents being used as a medical Guinea pig. “Courtney’s Mind” focuses on Courtney feeling good about progress in the future. Ironically the Millennial Moment has Damien feeling, just the opposite.

In episode 61 the show starts off with the usual weekly recaps. Damien partakes in retail therapy while Courtney has a frustrating board meeting & a positive start to Project Blueprint. Courtney’s mind focuses on the STAAR test and the way the state is handling results. Courtney also talks about a certain county commissioner and her (possible?) overstep of power. There is no Millennial Moment this week.
In episode 60 the boys start off with the usual weekly recaps. Damien is feeling financially insecure and Courtney is again the talk of the town. Courtney’s Mind focuses on Courtney’s Father. In episode 59 the show starts off with the weekly recap. Courtney has beef with Lord of the Rings and Damien doesn’t like the idea of separating SPED education from general education. Courtney’s Mind focuses again on questionable practices by school officials in ECISD and Courtney wants more veteran teachers to take inexperienced teachers under their wings. In episode 58, the boys start the show off not 100%. As always, throughout the show their moods pick up and your wonderful cohosts come alive. Both men recount their weeks before getting into “Courtney’s Mind” this week a collection of thoughts. The temperature in classrooms across a lot of MISD is TOO DAMN HIGH! Courtney is excited for Permian HS having their first band performance of the year.. but bomb threats, yes bomb threats, may get in the way of perfection. Courtney & Damien have opinions on Donald Trumps indictment. The Millennial Moment has Damien putting Courtney’s Taylor Swift knowledge to the test. Finally the show ends with Courtney expressing his love to Canada and all listeners.
In episode 57 the show starts off with the usual week recaps. Courtney’s Mind makes one thing very clear: the state of education in MISD is sad, very sad. The Millennial Moment is a ranty Damien, Courtney has a recommendation and then the show comes to a close.
In episode 56 Damien forgoes his weekly recap so Courtney gets into his before getting into a more somber Courtney’s Mind than usual. Courtney’s Mind is about how aging sucks, especially seeing those around you age, it’s deep & personal but as always finishes with that dash of Courtney optimism. A new board member has been appointed to district 7 but foul play may be at work here. A bond is discussed at a school board meeting. Courtney’s Mind revolves around wrapping up pride month and Courtney thanking the many companies and organizations that support LGBT+ citizens right to exist. In episode 50 of wait,WHAT!? The boys start off with the usual weekly recaps, Damien has a hectic weekend which leads him to a realization discussed in the Millennial Moment. Courtney details his week of Juneteenth celebrations as he commemorates Americas true Independence Day. Both boys had a blast at the comedy show performed by the Queen of West Texas comedy Stephanie “shonuff” Spencer. Courtney’s mind is a tribute to the passing of civil rights icon Robbyne Hocker Fuller. The Millennial moment features Damien becoming more self aware. Damien offers a recommendation and the show wraps up.

The boys skip recapping their weeks and get right into Courtney’s mind off the top of the show which covers a bomb shell resignation announcement by a MISD School Board member. Courtney also talks about Fmr President Trumps indictment in Florida. Damien talks a little about his first book club meeting before the boys welcome on a special guest: Comedian, Entrepreneur & Agriculturalist, Stephanie “Shonuff” Spencer. Courtney’s mind (31:48) is a loose string of collective thoughts this week. Firstly he’s thrilled for summer time and having more free time. He says goodbye to a good friend who’s moving from west Texas and wonders how it will affect leadership with Basin Pride. Courtney gets invited to a superintendents summit which has him questioning diversity in the superintendents office. Then he touches a little on the impeachment of AG Ken Paxton. The Millennial Moment (52:55) sees Damien learning to embrace the Villain roll, and it’s Courtney Approved. Neither guy has a recommendation and the show ends with usual goodbye banter.
In part 2 Courtney finishes telling the listeners about his day & his week before he gets into what’s on his mind which is? For the love of God can school just end already!? He’s a tired man and he needs a break. Then the millennial moment shows Damien taking us back to the poetry lounge which Courtney describes as “another sad Damien poem”. Finally Courtney offers a recommendation before the boys go ahead and wrap the show up.

First: why the **** can’t medical professionals communicate amongst themselves about a patients issues instead of relying on the patient to relay information!? Secondly a new in a long line of mass shootings as occurred in Allen Tx. This one hits close to home for both boys and another exhausting discussion on the ramifications of gun violence must be had.
