Episode 018 – The Reality of Being a Social Media Manager
In this episode I want to shine some light on the Social Media Management community, touch on the
hustle culture and how Instagram has ‘glamorized’ working online. The reason I have made this podcast
isn’t to put you off, it’s to comfort you. So many people online (primarily Instagram) talk about earning
online like it’s easy and stress-free, whilst YES, it is an INCREDIBLE industry to be in, you can almost
end up second guessing yourself and your skills if your life doesn’t look like that straight away – leading
to putting more pressure on yourself and giving up. The reason I want to address this is because I want
to normalise the reality and so that YOU know when your business doesn’t look like living in Bali in the
first 2 weeks, that it’s ok. P.S you can absolutely have the business of your dreams, travel and work and
make money – however it’s a journey not an over-night-get-rich-quick scheme.

- That building a sustainable social media management business is for the long run
- That if you don’t have a ‘stress-free’ business yet, doesn’t mean you never will
- That building a business can be messy – but it’s a fun, exciting ‘mess’
- Why doing what feels right to YOU is the best thing you can do
- That you will tick off your goals, BUT if you haven’t yet then comparison is the worst thing you can
do
- That the challenges you have face or are facing right now are normal but all part of the process
Please know that this industry has changed my life and can change yours too. This episode isn’t to make
it sound dull or stressful, its to comfort those who compare themselves to people’s day 5000 to their day
1.
