Is it even true that a Supreme Being - the God, exists? The knowledge of God is not a matter of just faith put in place but walking on the path of inquiry (Mimaansa). First, we have to understand why this thought of - Is there a God, occurs? Does God exist or not, is secondary. Why our intellect culminate the idea of God in the first place? It arises from the human's awakened consciousness which asks the question about himself and wonders about the Nature and the Universe around himself with the immutable laws and inexhaustible energies that are present. Does everything, which is working in perfect order, run without the impetus of some highly intelligent being? It can not be far from truth that everything is working by itself. It defies the logic of the law of nature. Also in this universe, we see that it is plenteous of Matter - which comprises of Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Ether and this "Matter" is inert by itself. The matter doesn't act by itself. This is similar in nature to our body which is formed from the same Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Ether. There is this force called Soul, Aatma etc., which makes the body function. Similarly for the whole universe which is in motion, and beyond the realm of human being's understanding, there is a force too which ought to be the cause of this effect and all the phenomena we see of the matter. As our knowledge advances, the whole equation becomes clearer that in this diversity we see unity. This diversity follows law. But due to the vastness of the Universe and we being infinitesimally small are left in awe due to the limitations of body, knowledge, and imagination we are forced to acknowledge the all-pervading existence of a supreme force which is handling the whole vastness. This change in the universe with respect to the evolution, prolongation and dissolution is surely by a cause, and that Cause of change and motion, that power, is known as the God. What is God? Different religions of the world have interpreted God in different fashion. It is true that One's knowledge of God is limited by his intellectual capacity, influence of the environment, his persistence and temperament as well. Just like material things are apprehended by our physical senses, the spiritual realm is apprehended by the power of the soul. The tools required to know the God are quite different from what scientific community demands which is by physical inspection. It is quite similar to the allegory of using Telescope and Microscope. If we start looking for the organisms using Telescope - we will never succeed. The correct instrument is required to get to what needs to be attained.
