Host Bio: Amy started her small business as a hobby, and It turned into a business that grew so fast. Because of this, she did go through a lot of trial and error. One thing Amy wished she could have had along the way was a mentor to guide, support, and encourage her.

Amy’s passion now is to be that support for a woman as she goes through business and or to help her with that business support and laser focus on her goals and ideas.

The vision of Amy’s business is to be a safe space for women, a space where they can let go and be able to feel like themselves. To journey through knowing what it's like to be “me” (them). As women, we wear so many hats, and Amy’s heart is always to have the place where a woman can let go and be empowered by challenging her mind, body, and spirit.

BIO: Mark’s a Brit who ended up on this side of the pond because that’s where Katie and the kids are and where they decided to open Unforget Yourself officially. (And, yes, he does get away with a lot because of his accent). Before Unforget Yourself, Mark owned and ran a marketing agency for 10 years - it’s where he grew professionally and personally, learning that a business is only able to be successful if the owner takes care of themself first. Mark’s the reason The Unforget Yourself System started - he desired to create something new from his own experience and knowledge and it’s from that desire that our system was born. In addition to all of this, Mark is a devoted dog dad to his Jack Russell Terrier, Abby, and a bonus dad to four actual kiddos.

Katie likes to try all the things in order to have the ability to speak from experience. She’s worked in corporate, been a stay-at-home mom, run her own businesses, homeschooled her four kids, trained in all things woo-woo and business, and really enjoys taking naps and climbing trees. For Katie, Unforget Yourself was born out of her experience making life-changing decisions that completely changed the trajectory of her life but were finally true to who she is.

ABOUT UNFORGET YOURSELF:

No one warns you that running your own business will become one of the most important and intense mental, emotional, and spiritual journeys you will ever have in your lifetime. It demands that you know yourself and show up as the best version of yourself in order to create the business and life you’re called to create. In order to do that, you need to get over your own bullshit so you can do the fucking thing - that’s what Unforget Yourself is here for. We help you grow and maintain the most important asset in your business - you.

Today, we are going to talk about how baby steps are big steps. Baby steps can indeed be significant and impactful. They may appear small on their own, but they contribute to progress and create momentum in the long run. By breaking down larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks, we can make consistent progress and maintain motivation along the way.

It's important to celebrate these small victories and acknowledge the progress made through each baby step. Sometimes, the most significant achievements come from the accumulation of many small steps taken consistently over time.

If you have recently taken a baby step towards a goal, feel free to share it in the comments. I'm here to provide support and encouragement as you continue on your journey.

Amy started her small business as a hobby, and It turned into a business that grew so fast.

Doing hard things isn’t for the weak. It’s for those that are willing to take a risk to get a great reward. Let’s talk first about why it’s so important to do hard things in business. It’s important because as an entrepreneur, you need to make sure you oversee the entire need to solve a problem or the entire possibility of a certain outcome. If you at any point enter entrepreneurship without these two things in mind, you might as well turn around right now. Decision making and doing hard things is what is going to decide the fate of your company.

Let me know in the comments how you feel about crucial conversations. I’m talking about conversations where you have to let someone go, put an employee on a performance plan, let your child know that there are consequences coming, set a boundary with a friend.

These conversations are important for a lot of reasons. You need to make sure to be or stand strong in them so your business can run efficiently and effectively and so your relationships can flourish. When we fail at crucial conversations, every aspect of our lives can be affected: careers, communities, personal health. If you can master this, you can influence every aspect of your life.

In the best companies, people are willing to step into difficult conversations. In good companies, bosses deal with problems. In the best companies, everyone holds everyone accountable regardless of level position. In good companies, people shy away from holding people accountable because they are afraid of the outcome.

For me, that silver lining is being grateful for what I have and focusing on what is around me so I don't miss those moments.

A plan of action to achieve the vision of a business. Decisions made, actions taken. All are working toward the vision of the business.

The vision of a business is the essential piece of the unit. The central core principle can never be shaken, adjusted, or changed. The business strategy is what supports that.

A business strategy outlines how the business will get from A to B while withholding its core mission statement and values / its why.

Amy started her small business as a hobby, and It turned into a business that grew so fast.

I believe that we have a purpose for what we're doing, and we want our products or services to reach our clients and do what it is that we are called and activate it.

Drop me a message in the comments today if you are fired up to be an entrepreneur and drop me a fire emoji down there!

From my experience, having a positive mindset gets you closer to your goals and further than not having one. There is always a time to be realistic, but having a positive mindset does not diminish that!

You always want to find the good in any situation possible. It is how we are going to make it! Having a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) will only keep pushing you closer to your goal.

When you expect good things to happen, they're going to happen!

You will attract positive changes and achievement if you have PMA.

Today we are talking about putting things into action!

What in general needs to change in order for you to achieve your goals?

What would happen if we quit waiting on things in life to come to us and we started pursuing people?

If we only write down the goals but we don't write down how to get there we lose them in the process.

In this week’s episode, we are talking about healing, sitting & be quiet.

Don't discount these steps no matter what stage you are in.

What does it mean to heal? It's the personal experience of suffering. Healing comes after suffering. It's after that where we can sit and reflect on what we grew through.

When we are able to be quiet, it can really open up ways for us to be creative. It opens up our minds to be sharper.

"Is there some sort of meaning behind what we are growing though?"

Episode Summary:

Let’s talk about limiting beliefs.

Limiting beliefs root deeply into how you were raised, and how you were taught to think by the people that surrounded you in your youth. The way that you think and the thoughts that you have are completely different than everyone else’s - and they are YOURS!

Try this with me. Lay out a limiting thought you’ve had today and separate it into pieces based on 3 categories: your family’s way of thinking, embellishments, and the blunt honest truth. If you had to pick one piece of that thought to keep in your mind, which one would you choose? Truth. The truth of that thought is what is going to propel you - not the extra “fluff”that you’ve attached onto it! Pull the truth from it and decide, not only what’s real, but what you WANT to be real.

“A limiting belief can be easily turned into a strong, motivating belief.”

- Amy Oostveen

Episode Summary:

In this week’s episode, we are talking ALLLL about showing up for yourself, and this is something that I think about day in and day out. How often have you set goals for yourself, only to fall flat within a week? Do you want results, but you can't consistently commit to the process?

Decide right now what you're committing to. Are you committing to shop healthier at the grocery store, or are you committing to building the business of your dreams? Whatever it is, commit to it over the next 7 days, and put the word çommittment’ itself into every thing that you do. This is how you make the decision every single day to show up, and how to move through your days with intention.

I want you to take emotion out of the equation. Emotion attaches you to the idea of a result. Whether you receive the results you desired or not - we are choosing to stay committed.

“Happiness is a choice, not a result, and commitment is the same thing. It’s your choice to show up, regardless of the result. You have to decide to commit, and you have to decide to be happy.”

Episode Summary:

Just like the common saying, “In order to start fixing a problem, you have to recognize that there is one,” it’s the same way with letting go of things that are heavy.

You have to validate your own feelings, and recognize that they are weighing you down and holding you back from reaching your highest potential. Then, you can allow yourself to work on letting go of the emotions that are left heavy on your mind.

Tune in for today’s episode to grow through what you go through and create a process to get through the hardships and challenges that life will bring in the future. 💗

Episode Summary:

Why are you here? Why are you doing what you’re doing? What is your ‘why’?

Today's episode is all about your why. So take a second right now, think of what you are doing right now in this minute. Why are you doing it? What is this action doing for what you want out of your life?

This is what gets you through the hard times. Whatever your ‘why’ is, say it out loud, visualize it, it will get you there. You have to know specifically what you are doing things for, because when you feel discouraged, tired, or overwhelmed, your reasons are the only thing that will get you through.

Similar to our previous conversations about relationships, if your actions are not focused on your ‘why,’ then they are not serving you. Listen in to this week’s episode and let’s figure out your ‘why’ so that you can stick to your goals and grow through your life.

Kim Trathen is a Business, Money & Mindset Coach for women that want to create extraordinary lives through businesses they love. Society conditions us to believe that business is hard, we should give away our knowledge for free, and to seek permission or approval to do what we love. Funk that noise. As a woman who went from working a corporate job she hated, to scaling a 6-figure business at 40+ years old; Kim is here to show you how to stop doubting yourself and confidently build the business of your dreams. Her goal isn't to create more cookie cutter entrepreneurs; it's to create the next generation of thought leaders...because nothing scares the patriarchy more than a well resourced woman sharing her ideas with the world.

Amy started her small business as a hobby, and It turned into a business that grew so fast.

Guest Bio:

Heidi was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to a father who was a national swim and dive champion coach and a mother who was a fitness instructor and coach. Her mom had a softer approach to fitness and fostered Heidi’s love of creative movement, exploration, and fun at home. This led to her introduction to a more disciplined sport of gymnastics from the age of 3 – 21.

Heidi found that within the gymnastics environment, everyone and everything was too rigid, leaving her fighting against the norm by changing her routines and not sticking to what was given. Most of the time, Heidi molded her routines into her own creative flair and even ended up choreographing for her peers and eventually her own students.

After watching an episode of Oprah where Shelia Kelly, founder of S Factor, introduced the world to mainstream pole dancing, Heidi began her own journey in pole, and after one class, she knew this was for her.

Heidi believes in being connected to and harnessing inner strength, creativity, and uniqueness. Through exploration, we ignite the courage to embrace who we are! Her mission is to empower people to embrace their vulnerability, live with courage and an open heart, and be curious about their potential on and off the pole.
