Being vulnerable is not easy. It takes courage to tell someone what is going on in your head and how you are feeling through life. As hard as it may be, it is something we should all get comfortable with doing. I am the first person to admit guilt of bottling things up until I would explode in an array of emotions. Sometimes those emotions got out of hand and had the potential to ruin connections I had made. Luckily, the friends, family and support I had behind me were not so easily scared. I did it to push people away, but I did not realize I was digging into a dark valley. That support system became a ladder when I finally let them know what was going on with me. Being transparent and vulnerable with people I felt safe with saved my life.
