On June 27 at 2:05PM in the small Texan town of Encinal, about half an hour from the Mexican border, a truck passed through a check point.
The trailer was carrying 67 people risking their lives in a desperate search for a new life in the United States.
Hours later, this same truck was found abandoned on a road on the outskirts of San Antonio.
Inside were the bodies of 47 migrants, all dead from suffocation and dehydration.
Six more died in hospital over the following days.
53 lives lost just like that.
As migrants continue to die in droves - will lawmakers ever learn?
