Keeping with Episode 93’s theme of loneliness, here is a song I wrote last year— called “sleepless”— in Seattle. ;)
I’m starting to think this will never end
I’m starting to lose gravitation
I’m starting to wonder if you never did wonder if I could ever be patient…
And in dreams I go home
“Only to no home I’ve ever known”
I wonder— if I leave,
I wonder if anybody would miss me

BONUS CONTENT… this is the song I performed in the open mic mentioned in last episode! Written/recorded in 2022.

You would always walk all over me

Take a good thing and make it bad

I used to chalk it off as reality

But why should I have to say that?

My tongue’s on fire, it’s life and death

My lungs are tired, you're every breath

Needless to say,

We are done

I hope you

Grow up someday

Into someone

Who can

Know that there's more

To feeling secure

Than making someone else feel dumb

I know you be-

Lieve me a fool

But believe me, you

Would be leaving too

If I said and did

The things that you do

You think I'm a kid

But darling that’s you…

Key parts:

7:54 Mayo Clinic symptoms

  • Listlessness
  • Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed
  • Carb intake
  • Feeling hopeless, worthless, or guilty
  • Not wanting to live

13:37 Other thoughts

  • Happiness makes me sad
  • The cycle of stress eating
  • Lacking motivation
  • There’s nowhere near that’s far enough away
  • It took all of me to get here.
  • Why won’t you ask if I’m okay?
  • There's NOone to talk to

Whether you can relate and receive validation from this, or are just interested to understand this struggle more, I hope this episode is helpful. To sunny days!... 🙇🏻‍♀️

Quality over quantity! "A good quality few is better than a mediocre many" - whether that be things you have, the things you do, or even the things you say... so here is 15 minutes of me rambling about that 🤪 Enjoy!

Welcoming 🥳Syd🥳 for a conversation on the importance of “withholding no good words”… from others or even yourself. Double negatives don’t not abound as we also reminisce about our iconic Instagram collab 🐤 and discuss why I comment on celebrities’ posts like there’s no tomorrow 🧍🏻‍♀️. To that end… go out and “GIVE” good words! Lots of them! 💜

In my last episode, I mentioned a song I'd written earlier this year about being afraid of drifting away from a friend when you say goodbye, because you feel you need them more than they need you. This is the song, "Leave Me Be": LYRICS: I try my best to be a good friend, Genuine, Until the end And I'm a wreck when You say that It's all in my head So I say that I'll be fine Who doesn't love a white lie? Trying not to cry As I'm saying goodbye...

To my best friend, "til the end"— At least, that's what you said But I know better than To go and believe that You say I'm such a pessimist But I think I'm a realist And you say that we'll be fine, So, then, why shouldn't I?

But how can I be fine? How can I move on with life When I spent it all waiting for you? And now, how are you okay, Now that I gave myself away? Hoping if I stayed, that you would too.

So, is this why you don't talk to me? And is this why I'm just a memory? And is this why your leaving me was easy?

This is why I hide my tears And this is why I have so much fear This is why I begged you not to leave...

Cuz honestly, I knew eventually that you wouldn't need me And you would leave me be… Alone.

Welcoming Alyssa, my okay friend who has a surprising amount of wisdom... kidding! You don't want to miss this albeit chaotic-banter-filled conversation on how moving has shaped our friendships and perspective on the concept of "home." It's where the heart is... be it in a location, time, or even a person. <3 Thank you Alyssa! See you soon as my new cohost!

"Be yourself" - cliche, but true! I am always comparing my strengths to others' and wishing I was someone else... but we were all created for a unique purpose here on Earth. Let Taylor Swift be Taylor Swift, an eye be an eye, and even a (Mr.) Zero be a hero. Thanks for listening :)

I've been learning that life isn't a formula-- there is no "right answer" to do/be something in particular, but there ARE paths to get there that take self-awareness and wisdom to recognize as wrong for you. I encourage you to "put your foot in the door" and try everything... but don't force yourself to walk in a shoe that doesn't fit! Better input = better output :)

Why is this episode special?: because it features my first guest, or because that guest is my youngest sister, Kate? ... the answer is YES. In this conversation, Kate tells me about her philosophy on how the simplest things-- from low-key family outings to picking up trash-- can have a lasting impact. She also confesses her possible addiction to trash & I repay her for being on the podcast with a (literal) slap on the face. Do you think she'll be back?!

…and by “weight” I mean burdens— my sisters & I seriously deliberated this title. Please don’t take it the wrong way… haha! Alternative title, suggested by Kate: "If You Know... Let it Go!"
