Part 1 of 2. Shane Brodie speaks with a teacher in Maryland who identifies as being nonbinary in terms of their gender. We talk about his coming out process, his teaching methods, ftm (trans man) pioneer Steve Dain, teaching during the pandemic, pronoun usage, language and discrimination, the standards of care regarding trans healthcare, other trans people in his family, and the laws on both sides of the Potomac River. We filmed this interview on their covered porch, so there is some ambient noise including some dog barking.

Two archived newspaper articles about Steve Dain.
