All of us have boundaries. They are the lines we draw that indicate what we will and will not tolerate from others. When our boundaries are strong, we can protect ourselves from being taken advantage of or becoming emotionally overwhelmed.

However, even the best of us can sometimes miss an important boundary. Maybe we're caught off guard by someone's words or actions, or maybe we simply didn't realize how much our own emotions were involved in the situation. Whatever the reason, it's important to be able to navigate the emotions that come up when we realize we've missed a boundary.

After all, boundary-setting is an ongoing process, and there will always be times when we make mistakes. The key is to learn from our mistakes and use them to become even more aware of our own needs and boundaries. We can become better at setting boundaries and protecting ourselves from emotional harm with practice.
