I talk with my good hunting buddies Greg Vachon aka “Focker” and Jason Courchaine. I’ve been hunting bears with Jason since 2011. He’s a local Manitoba bowhunting legend, at least in my opinion. He’s killed numerous record book animals which include deer, bear, elk and moose. He has a common sense approach to bowhunting, which has contributed to his success. Jason and Focker are long-time co-workers and friends. They are both male nurses, hence the nickname “Focker” and you’ll understand that if you’ve ever watched “Meet the Parents.” Jason introduced Focker to hunting. The cool thing about Focker is that he only hunts elk and moose. Generally people start with small game or deer hunting then work their way up to the big game, not Focker, his first hunt was a fly-in moose hunt or what he calls a fly-away. Our conversation is as candid as they get, we just finished shooting our bows and decided to sit down for a talk about our past moose and elk hunts. We share a lot of laughs reminiscing about these past hunts. We also discuss our upcoming moose hunt, which is only in a couple weeks. I think you’ll enjoy the candidness and sincerity of our conversation. Enjoy!
