Episode 3 | Vade Connecting the curb
Real-time curb data & tools to help cities make better urban planning decisions.
The growth of e-commerce, delivery vehicles, and micro-mobility has led to more users and use cases than ever before competing for a limited amount of curb space. Cities are forced to make do with outdated, legacy parking management tools that are fundamentally incompatible with this new demand paradigm — leading to increased levels of congestion, vehicle emissions, and public safety concerns. Cities need new, dynamic tools to manage modern-day chaos. At Vade, their mission is to help cities manage curbs by measuring their use with AI-based camera solution paired with a powerful back-end analytics suite.
Vade offers an end-to-end solution that includes hardware, installation, maintenance, and software in one subscription package. With real-time occupancy data at its core, the platform provides cities with comprehensive insight into when curbs are used, where vehicles are parked, how long they are parked, and what type of vehicles are parked - all of which can be combined to serve various use cases and paint a comprehensive picture of curb demand.
About Ritwik:
Ritwik Pavan is co-founder of Vade, a mobility startup he launched in December 2017 after becoming personally frustrated with the parking situation in his college town of Chapel Hill. Prior to Vade, Pavan was CEO and founder of a software design and development agency, Linker Logic Technologies, which he started in high school after developing an iOS game that reached the top 20 on the charts and the top 3 games in the App Store. Pavan grew the company to a 40-person team and over $2 million in revenue while working with several founders and startups.
