Does God choose sides? I’m reminded of Joshua having an encounter with who many biblical scholars believe is the pre-incarnate Jesus, and Joshua asks, 'Are you for us or for our enemies?' (Joshua 5:13, NIV). The Lord answers clearly and directly, 'Neither.' Can you believe this? The Lord refused to pick Israel over Jericho! How unlike us.
