A value of CLC is to have a “Passion for Christ”, which is important for a church to have so that a Discipleship Culture exists. How does this practically look like?

Definition of Passion = ardent adoring love

Question: Do you have an ardent adoring love for Jesus?

Nicodemus’ spiritual journey, as told in the Book of John, has actions which demonstrate a passion for Christ:

1. Nicodemus goes to Jesus to ask his questions and receives spiritual direction. (John 3:1-21)

Question: Do you want to spend time with Jesus to ask him for spiritual advice?

1. Nicodemus identifies himself on Jesus’ side when he publicly challenges his peers who are the Jewish leaders. (John 7:45-52)

Question: Can you identify yourself as a Jesus follower even if it isn’t popular?

1. Nicodemus abandons playing it safe and helps bury Jesus’ body at a cost to himself. (John 19:38-42)

Question: Are you prepared to give all to Jesus? Time, money, abilities, life?
