Yesterday, I was having a coaching conversation with some leaders at a company. I had to help them remove the blinders from their eyes in order to improve their teams sales and operational performance.
I use the same method with my kids all the time.
Why do we have expectations of others to do more than is in their best interest? We all have free will but we suffer when others don’t do what we expect them to do. That could be on our job, in our family, with others in business or politics.
Sean Whalen, Founder of Lions not Sheep, was discussing why he made a business decision and how it would affect his 20 employees and their future.
Gary Vaynerchuk was pointing out that having 0 expectations about a person’s efforts and performance is preferable so you can keep yourself level and get things done.
Someone may not ask for it and others may not think they are deserving of it. We give honor where honor is due and support others when they should be supported.
