The Rail labor dispute, what is happening now, what could be happening and what you can do to show support.

Six private railroads and twelve rail labor unions are in the midst of a contract dispute. Three of the unions have ratified the tentative agreement (TA). Railroad Workers United has launched a “vote no” campaign. (See sources linked below)

Four things you could do:

  1. An ad hoc group of rank & file working railroad workers has come together to call for informational pickets at rail terminals around the country…. this informal grouping has called on railroad workers to join in the protests scheduled for Weds 9/21/22. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Press-Release—Rank—File-Group-Urges-Mass-Picketing-Wednesday.html?soid=1116509035139&aid=S09TGp6vmt8

  2. visit Railroadworkersunited.org for info

  3. Organized groups and NPOs can issue statements of solidarity.

  4. Federal Railroad Administration is taking public comment (until 9/26/22) on train crew minimum staffing. visit https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/07/28/2022-15540/train-crew-size-safety-requirements
