In this explosive no-holds-barred interview with the CEO of Background Check International (BCI), Mr kola Olugbodi shares deep insights about his #entrepreneurial journey and how he was able to create an industry that was nonexistent and has grown to become a global brand today. Kola Olugbodi was born in the city of Lagos, and he attended Atunda-Olu School for the Handicaps for his primary education from 1971-76. For his secondary school education, he started from Baptist Academy, Obanikoro-Lagos in 1977 but concluded at Ede Baptist High School, Ede, Osun State in 1983. Kola gained admission into the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1984 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Demography and Social Statistics in 1988. He observed his service year with the National Population Commission (NPC) and he was retained by the Commission as a Population Statistician immediately after he concluded his service in 1989. Kola left NPC for the North-South Bank (NSB) in 1992. He became an Entrepreneur immediately after he left NSB in 1995. He was the CEO of Josh Cyrus, a Human Resource and Outsourcing Organization. After which he became the inaugural CEO of Background Check International (BCI), pioneers of the background check industry in Nigeria and West Africa in 2004. Kola Olugbodi pioneered the background check industry in Nigeria and he is the CEO of Background Check International, Nigeria’s first background check company. He is Africa's leading background check expert, and the Chairman of, Board of Trustees of the Association of African Professional Background Screeners. Kola is a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (IIM), Africa, and also the first African member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), USA. Kola is also an Advisory Board Member of the International Due Diligence Association (IDDA) USA, and an alumnus of the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Kola is the author of "Through It All", an account of his many trials and triumphs in life. He is also a workshops and conferences facilitator, a public speaker, a pastor, and a preacher by calling whose hallmark in life is to always impact other people’s lives for God and for good.
